Something is better than nothing!!
A billion dollar tax grab!
what about existing prop 13 people?
You think it's a tax grab now, wait until next year when the gov and leg need to make up for the shortfall. Better to protect generational transfer for primary than to lose it entirely.
so does Proposition 13 still exist if this is voted down?
she said this replaces prop 13
The statewide portability could open up housing options that helps shift folks trapped in housing they can't maintain to housing that improves their quality of life. Living alone in a 3 or 4 bedroom house. Making it easier to move will help with that.
I believe prop 19 replaces Prop 58.
what is the impact on commercial properties
So true Virginia. It will only get worse if we vote this down.
Regarding intergenerational, just to be clear, when someone dies and they have more than one property, then prop. 19 will adjust the property taxes for those properties that were not the owner’s primary residence?
can you touch more on 1 to 3 properties limit?
Prop 58 is the parent child transfer
what is the deal with the $1M part of it?
To piggy back on Sep's question, what if a parent gives 3 properties to 3 children and each of the children now is using the property as their primary residence?
If a child moves into the property, how long must they stay to retain the tax base forever?
Would you please tell everyone about the Oct.3rd and 4th event on the top of the Promenade THE OPEN MARKET PLACE?from Jackie Crowley
are we loosing the $1 mill gift of commercial property that has been allowed
Dalal Karama-Board of Director
when a property passes to a family member and tax gets reassessed then the receiver will pay higher prop tax and capital gain, isn't better to just pass the property through a living trust?
a living trust will still distribute your the beneficiary thus will trigger a reassessment
From Jackie This is the one community event being but on by the Chamber of Commerce and I will try to get the flyer to you !!
Lynn Aglipay-2020 President
Thank you Jackie….yes send over the flyer
We will provide information on the PVP Chamber of Commerce event in our Monday Events email.
We can't have a Street Fair this year, and it will be monitored for distancing and masks and count of people but is free!!
a lot of people on NextDoor are saying this is what realtors want because it only helps us to sell more homes. They are very unhappy about this. We need to educate them somehow.
Thank you! :)
